Updating Pricing & Inventory

How can we help you?

All questions on ‘Updating Pricing & Inventory’

Your pricing can easily be changed using the Local Expert Partner Central (LXPC) Self-Service tool. For compliance reasons, once you create a price group the pricing will be locked, however you can update this whenever you please.

Here are the step-by-step instructions:

  1. From the Product list page, click on the ‘Actions’ link and select ‘Edit’ in the drop-down menu of the Product you wish to update.
  2. Navigate to the ‘Options list’ tab on the sidebar to view the pricing set up for this Product.
  3. Select ‘Actions’ then ‘Edit’ on the Option you’d like to change. Scroll down to the price group that is active and select ‘Actions’ then ‘Edit’.
  4. From here you can now choose the date you’d like this pricing to end. After you have selected a date, scroll down and click ‘Save and Continue’.
  5. You can now either select ‘Add a price group’ at the bottom of the page or clone the previous price group by selecting ‘Actions’ then ‘Clone this price group’.Note: Ensure the dates aren’t overlapping on your price groups as you won’t be able to save it. For example, if I have ended the previous price group on July 10th then the new price group must start from July 11th.
  6. After you have built your new price group with the updated pricing, click the ‘Save and Continue’ button to confirm the changes.
  7. Then click the ‘Continue’ button to send your updates onto the live website.

Expedia provides suppliers access to a tool called Local Expert Partner Central (LXPC) Self-Service where you are able to manage your inventory in real time using the Availability Manager. This must be used by suppliers in order to maintain daily availability and apply stop-sells on your products.

If your products are currently connected via API to Expedia (through a Reservations Platform or Direct API), inventory does not need to be managed on the LXPC Self-Service Tool. Please read more information about API Connectivity here.

You will be able to manage daily capacity using the Availability Manager service located in the Local Expert Partner Central (LXPC) Self-Service tool. This can be found by click on ‘Availability Manager’ in the drop-down menu in the right-hand corner or on your Product list page or on the sidebar if you are already viewing one of your products.

When your inventory is running low, rather than closing the date completely, you can reduce the number of tickets based on how much you still have left to avoid overbooking. If you are able to increase your capacity, then you can increase the inventory for a specific date. Step-by-step instructions are below:

  1. Click on ‘Availability Manager’ in the drop-down menu in the right-hand corner or on your Product list page to begin managing capacity
  2. Choose the product from the Product list (or All products if you want to view them all at the same time) you wish to modify the capacity for

  3. Select the specific date or date range you wish to modify the capacity for using the ‘From’ and ‘To’ fields

Note: If the selected Capacity Type for the option is ‘Free-sell’, the capacity will be automatically set to 100 spaces and dates can only be closed out completely. (See: ‘How do I close out a particular date?‘)

You certainly can! From the Availability Manager service, select the product from the Product list (or All products if you want to close them all out at the same time) and the date range you wish to close out using the ‘From’ and ‘To’ fields. Note: A maximum of 3 months can be closed at the one time.

Only the dates you have set as being available will appear in the Availability Manager service. If you wish to amend the schedule to open up more or remove certain days of the week, navigate to the Options list on your sidebar. Click the ‘Actions’ link on the relevant Option, select ‘Edit’, and then scroll down to the ‘Availability’ field in the Setup Prices section.

If the Option is ‘Limited Capacity’, add availability by changing the number of spaces available from 0 to the preferred capacity. To remove availability, change the number of spaces available to 0.

‘Sold’ indicates the amount of tickets sold for that Option date on Expedia, while ‘Capacity’ indicates the maximum number of spaces you have made available for this Option. You can amend the Capacity in the Pricing setup section of each Option.

The first thing to check, if one of your products is not in the Availability Manager’s Product List, is that you have Set Up Prices (See: How do I set up pricing?) for at least 1 option on the product you are looking to manage. If the product is Active and has a pricing group successfully attached to it, please reach out to the Supplier Support team using the Contact Us Form to assist you.

If you are a supplier who is connected to Expedia via API Connectivity, changes made by the ‘Supplier Connectivity GAC’ means Expedia has processed checks on your inventory via Connectivity using API (referred to as a General Availability Check (GAC) call).

The commission rate for each of your products will be pre-set based on prior negotiation with your Destination Manager. Any changes to your commission rate must be discussed with and authorized by this contact. Please reach out to them with details of your requested commission rate.
