Individual or Volume based pricing
We will start with loading pricing for Individual tickets. This pricing applies to price per voucher.
The first section is called ‘Offer group restrictions.’ The Offer Group Restrictions section should only be used when a tour requires a minimum or maximum number of Ticket Types per booking. If no restriction is needed, this section can be skipped. Please see the FAQ page titled ‘Offer group restrictions feature‘ for more information on how to use.
Price groups
In this section, you will enter all relevant pricing details.
- Travel Dates: This date range will indicate when the vouchers can be redeemed.
- Rollercoaster Testing Tours is offering tours from August 1–December 31, 2023 for those brave enough to test. This is how that would look:
- Prices vary by booking date: If this pricing is only bookable for a durational period, you would check ’Prices vary by booking date.’ Upon checking the box, you will receive 2 fields to enter the Booking From and To dates. Please see the FAQ page titled ‘How to maximize booking dates’.
- Ticket types: These are the tickets you created upon building the option. Select which ticket types you would like to add pricing for.
- Each ticket type selected will have its own row of details to complete.
- You can choose only the ticket types that are applicable for that specific price group.
- Min volume tickets: This is a mandatory field that cannot be blank and references “Volume based pricing”. This is dynamic pricing that changes based on the number of tickets the shopper selects.
- For non-volume based pricing, you would select 1. This tells the system that you need a minimum of 1 ticket for this price.
-
- For volume-based pricing, you would use ‘+ Add volume price‘ to stack pricing per amount of tickets sold.
- Example: Rollercoaster Testing Tours will give a discount if more than 3 people book our Middleground of Fury rollercoaster on the same order. We would enter as follows:
- 1 Ticket => 20 USD Retail Price (per ticket)
- 3 Tickets => 18 USD Retail Price (per ticket)
- This will tell the system to list a Retail of 20 USD if there are 1–2 Adults. But if there are 3 Adults selected, now the price will drop to 18 USD per Adult.
- Example: Rollercoaster Testing Tours will give a discount if more than 3 people book our Middleground of Fury rollercoaster on the same order. We would enter as follows:
- For volume-based pricing, you would use ‘+ Add volume price‘ to stack pricing per amount of tickets sold.
- Retail price per person: The total price the traveler will pay per selected ticket.
- Net price: The total price that is paid to you. This is not editable and automatically calculated based on the commission/margin percentage rate that you were contracted at.
- Margin: The percentage paid to Expedia as agreed upon in your contract.
- Retail and Net prices and Margin will always be rounded up to 2 decimals.
- Price code (optional): Will appear on booking notifications and may be used by you to help identify the price that was booked.
- Example: If Rollercoaster Testing Tours offered a variety of pricing, we could add price codes so we can identify how much we anticipate receiving in payment. We could enter FULLA (Adult) or FULLC (Child) to indicate it is a single full-price ticket internally.
Be sure to add all pricing for all ticket types you’d like to include in the option.
Note: You can use the “Trash” icon to delete a Ticket Type pricing in case you no longer need it.
- Days and Availability: This section will vary depending on the Schedule Type and the Ticket availability type you selected in the Details section. Please refer to the FAQ Page titled ‘How do I update Days and Availability in a price group?’.
Once you have fully created your price group(s), click ‘Publish.’
Lastly, you must click ’Update & save option group‘ to save your option.
Please be sure to save your changes to the 3 different sections, and finally save the whole option group in order to confirm your options are published.
