If pricing is only bookable for a durational period, you would check ’Prices vary by booking date.’ Upon checking the box, you will receive 2 fields to enter the Booking From and To dates.

  • Example: If Rollercoaster Testing Tours were only ready to start accepting bookings starting July 1, 2023, through December 31, 2023, for the Travel Dates starting in August, this is how that would look:

  • Another use for the Booking Dates is for promotional periods. Promotional periods would be an additional price group that would overwrite the original price group.
  • Important: If you load a promotional period here, outside of the promotion tool, your price will be displayed as regular price with no strikethrough price or any other promo feature.
    • Example: Typically, we sell rollercoaster tours at regular price for August 1–December 31, 2023. If we want to launch a promotion or discounted rate for a period, we can create a new price schedule with the same dates for a 20%-discount special offer.
      • To do so, we would add August 1–December 31, 2023, as our Travel Dates, and in Booking Dates we would enter the length of the promotional period (June 1–8, 2023).
    • The system will use the price group with booking dates to overwrite the original pricing, and once the booking date period has ended, the regular pricing would be listed again.

Please note: Booking Dates can significantly impact the availability of your product. Please only enter dates in the event you have restrictive selling periods, have a specific promotional period, and ensure you have rates that will take effect before/after this promotional period.

Also note that the Booking “From” date must be before or the same as Travel “From” date, and the Booking “To” date must be before or the same as Travel “To” date.

Be conscious of avoiding overlapping dates that may prevent you from saving your changes.
