Tickets

The first section of Options and pricing is dedicated to Tickets. Tickets are now built at the activity level, meaning you should create all the ticket options you will need before creating option groups. This article will help you set up pricing with the new layout.

Let’s create a fictional activity named Rollercoaster Testing Tours to better illustrate the change. Rollercoaster Testing Tours offers various forms of tickets for our rollercoaster experiences. We want to offer an individual ticket for single/group travelers. We also want to offer a capacity ticket for our private or larger groups. The Ticket type section allows us to create these different types of tickets.

Individual Ticket

To create an individual ticket for those daring to ride our rollercoasters, we would select either the Infant, Child, Youth, Adult, Senior, and Student (Age groups) tickets or the Traveler (non-age group) ticket and apply the applicable age ranges. If your product has different ticket types sold by age, you can select ‘Travelers by age groups’. If you have only 1 ticket type, you can select ‘Travelers by non-age group’. Whether using the ‘Travelers by age groups’ or ‘Travelers by non-age group – General Admission’ option, it must apply to all Options groups within a product.

Our rollercoasters are for Adults only so we will use the ‘Traveler’ ticket to create these individual tickets.

Important Restrictions:

  • Ages must not overlap or have gaps.
  • You cannot have multiple age ranges for a ticket
    • For example, you cannot have an Adult ticket with 21+ and 16+ for the same product. You must build a separate product for the different ticket age range.

Capacity Ticket

Now that our individual tickets have been created, we will also create a capacity ticket for the private and larger group ticket.

At Rollercoaster Testing Tours, we offer multiple options of rollercoasters. The Twister of Demise, for example, is a four-seater launch vehicle that shoots you to extraordinary heights only to have a rapid and dizzying descent. For this rollercoaster, we can offer a capacity ticket to book the entire vehicle. Whether there is a minimum of 1 person or a maximum of 4 people, the price will still be the same for the privacy of the rollercoaster. Because of this, we will enter 1 as the minimum and 4 as the maximum.

We also offer a group ticket that includes 5 Travelers. To create a capacity ticket for this group ticket, we would add an additional capacity ticket for 5–5 persons.

The capacity ticket ensures the total price remains the same if within the Min and Max boundaries you have set.

Once all ticket types have been created, you may click Save & continue to begin creating your option groups.

Please note that amending tickets is possible after they have been created; however, if any price groups have been created/assigned to the ticket types you plan to remove, the pricing will also be deleted at the same time.
